Ready, Set, GO!!

Im at the starting line and i want to make sure that i document all of my stats. So this is just a quick post to journal that information.

My highest weight and starting weight on this journey is: 298 lbs
Im very ashamed of this number, few people outside me and my doctor know this. Although im thankful I have never seen a 3-- on the scale, I am dangerously close and i am so dissappointed in myself for letting my weight get to this point.

At a height of 5'8" that leaves me with a BMI of  45.3
This, ofcourse, means that i am in the category of "Extremely Obese"

From http://www.figureofweight.com/your-bmi/    :

BMI 40 or more

A BMI of 40 or more is considered to be extremely obese. This is an unhealthy condition and should be addressed immediately. Large amounts of excess body fat increases the risk of some forms of cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.

Overall my health is actually pretty good. I do have PCOS which comes with quite the cocktail of symptoms. They are different for everyone but for me these include:
                           * insulin resistance
                           * hursutism
                           * acanthosis nigricans
                           * sebaceous cysts
                           * polycysitic ovaries
                           * anovulation
                           * skin tags

I also have mild to moderate generalized anxiety disorder which could also be related to PCOS.
For this i take 40 mg of Celexa daily and have 0.5 mg xanax to use as needed. This is the only medication that I take daily.

That turned out to be a bit longer than I anticipated. I am hoping to be able to come back to this post and update it with my progress.

Ta-Ta for now,
Liser

The very first time...

Hello, and welcome to my blog! It will be dedicated to my journey through weightloss surgery. Mostly this is for me to document all the ups and downs, milestones, failures etc. Im trying to keep myself accountable and hopefully anyone who decides to follow along can offer some support.

First thing on my agenda is to take some before pictures - this is scary! Ill be out shopping tonight for my 2 week pre-op diet and I'll have a run down for that as well.  Also, i will try and spruce the place up a bit.

Truth be told - i have no idea what im doing, really.  Even though i read alot of great blogs this is uncharted territory for me. I have terrible grammar skills and never have been much of a writer.  It's just little big 'ol me behind these words.

Im working on being healthy and happy. Join me!
